Week of 1/30/17

The students will be starting a new story on Tuesday, January 31st.  It is called "The Importance of Imagination."  The focus comprehension skills are reflective essay, author's influences, central idea and making inference.  The test for this story will be on Friday, February 3rd.  They will have a character traits test on Tuesday, January 31st.  They will have to write down 25 character traits.  Make sure they study their list.

Week of 1/23/17

The test for "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" will be on Thursday, January 26th.  On Friday, we will be working on character traits and figurative language.  They will  have a test on character traits next week.  They will have to write down 25 character traits for the test.

Week of 1/17/17

The students will have a test on "Is Our Gain Also Our Loss?" on Thursday, January 19th.  They will start a new story called "from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."  The focus comprehension skills are direct and indirect characterization and making inferences.  The test will be on Thursday, January 26th.

Week of 1/9/17

The students will have a test on "The Fun They Had" on Tuesday, January 10th.  They also have a story map that is due on Tuesday.  The new story will be "Is Our Gain Also Our Loss?"   The comprehension skill is Reflective Writing.  The test for this story will be on Wednesday, January 18th.

There is a teacher In-Service  day on Monday, January16th.  No school for students.

Week of 1/3/17

On Tuesday, the students received a story map paper.  They had some time in class to work on it.  It is due on Tuesday, January 10th.  On Wednesday, we started a story called "The Fun They Had."  The focus comprehension skills are science fiction and theme.  The test will be on Tuesday, January 10th.
