Week of 4/2/13

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and break.  The students do not have school on Monday, April 1st or Tuesday, April 2nd.  This week we will be working on author's purpose (inform, entertain or persuade.)  We will also be working on words with multiple definitions.  They will have a test on these two skills on Friday, April 5th.  We will also be reviewing the PSSA terms.  The PSSA tests will start on Monday, April 8th.  Have a great week!

Week of 3/25/13

The students are working on the PSSA skills this week.  They will not have any tests this week.  I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Easter break.

Week of 3/18/13

The students will have a test on the PSSA terms on Tuesday, March 19th.  The field trip is on Thursday, March 21st.  They need to be at the lower level parking lot at the high school by 6:45 a.m.  They are to be picked up there around 5:30 p.m.  DARE graduation is on Wednesday.  The students are to be at the high school by 6:45 p.m.  Have a great week!

Week of 3/11/13

The students are working on figurative language skills.  They are alliteration, simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, onomatopoeia and idioms.  They will have a review on Tuesday.  Make sure your children are studying the figurative language definitions.  They will have a test on Wednesday, March 13th.   They will have a comprehension review on Thursday.  The skills are drawing conclusions, compare and contrast, theme and comparing author's style.  They will have a test on these skills on Friday, March 15th.  The field trip is now scheduled for Thursday, March 21st.   They need to report to the high school at 6:45 am and be picked up at 5:30 pm.  They need a ride both ways for the field trip.   They also need to study the PSSA terms.  They will have a test on these on Tuesday, March 19th.  Have a great week!
