Week of 1/30/12

This week we will be working on the story "Water." Our comprehension skills are author's purpose and autobiography. They will have a test on the story on Thursday, February 2nd. On Friday, we will start a new story called "Jacke Robinson: Justice at Last." Have a great week!

Week of 1/23/12

We will be focusing on comprehension skills all week. On Monday and Tuesday, we will be reviewing the skills that we learned. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will be taking tests on these skills. The students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, January 27th. Have a great week!

Week of 1/16/12

The students are reading a story called "Zlata's Diary." This is also an excellent novel that they can read for accelerated reader points. Our focus comprehension skills are nonfiction, and author's role, influence, style and purpose. They will have a test on this story on Friday. Have a great week!

Week of 1/9/12

The students are working on two stories called "The Fun They Had" and "Feathered Friends." They will have a test on these two stories on Wednesday, January 11th. The students will have DARE during reading class on Tuesday. The students are supposed to have 10 points for accelerated reading. This is due on Friday, January 13th. It counts as a grade.
